What if you try to manually map ur desktop using IP instead? \\192.168.0.XXX\share ?

Just for experiment sake, forget about using internet for a while and just try to get ur network shares to work. Disable your DHCP server, and manually assign an IP to each of your clients, and then manually map the drives using IP. See if that resolves the 'same name conflict'.
