I have been running a wireless network at home for some time now ( all Linksys gear ) and WCF12 was the latest add-on. I have to say all worked like a charm the first time around. I did, however, notice some strange config issues as well as a reception singal strength issue. Here they are, as observed:
Couldn't change the existing WEP 128-bit password
Resolution: Had to set the WEP to Disabled, save to AP, then set the password of choice again with the 128-bit WEP enabled
Couldn't lock onto the AP signal ( on my Axim only, the rest of the network is fine )
Resolution: Had to reset my Axim couple of times. This is strange, but it worked
Signal lost when central heating turnes on!!!
Resolution: This is truly a weird one. I was sitting on the floor, next to my gas-forced air vent. When the heat came on, the WCF12 light started to blink as it lost the signal to the AP. The rest of the network was fine. I moved away from the vent and Axim re-acquired the signal without a problem. Go figure.
All-in-all, the Axim/Linksys combo workes beautifully, at least for me. I don't know when was the last time I used the cradle to sync up my stuff. Like anything else in the computing world, darn things either work or they give you a hell of a time.
