Hi Folks,

I had posted a few posts back about my WCF12 failing...

After a week of torture on the phone with Linksys, they have agreed to replace my WCF12 card. After getting off the phone with them yesterday, I decided to "play" around with the card and I took a GOOD look at the card under a microscope and noticed that the card itself was warped. The part that inserts into the CF slot was warped in relation to the Antenna part that sticks up out of the slot.

Then I proceeded to insert the card and I twisted/pushed hard on it and guess what, it worked! As soon as I released pressure, the link light went off and the card died. Tried again, and as long as I kept a twisting/pushing pressure on the antenna part, the card worked.

This is similar to what others have mentioned in the past when they have had issues.

So my guess is that the tolerances on the WCF12 were slightly out of spec (too wide) and when you insert the card (remember, its a tight fit!), it eventually warps the card and probably screws up the internal connections/wiring.

I will let everyone know how the replacement works out. If its a snug fit again, I bet I get the same failures. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they have resolved the issue.
