My problem is: I don't have a lot of CD's and have tried doing the legal download thing with Musicmatch. However, I cannot find out how to put them on my AX to play them due to the proprietary software and all that licensing mumbo-jumbo. I just want to download a song and put it on my axim to play....kinda like when I used to do it the "illeagal" way with Napster or Kazaa.
if proprietary software is an issue then what you've downloaded is not an MP3. MP3 is a standard file format that windows media player on the axim can play.

if these 'legal' sites are offering music in a proprietary format and don't also offer the proprietary software (or links to the software) then it's pretty useless. if they do offer the software but no software for the ppc then you still aren't going to be able to use it for the purpose you want.
