Cancel that last one, I was babbling. The NETWORK folder is thanks to Resco Explorer, it lets you create drive mapping sto network resources and makes them appear as browsable folders under your main memory. Using that, you could use any app to access those files.

I use Pocket Music to play MP3's, it lets you "add file" or "add folder" to the playlist, but I assume most apps have a facility to browse the local file structure, and since NETWORK just appears as another folder, you should be able to play files off your network shares.
