I just replaced my motherboard. The hard disks and other peripherals were not damaged at all by the crash. So I also kept all programs installed as before.

I do have an antivirus (Symantec), and also a firewall (Kerio Personal). But after reading a lot of articles in forums such as this one, I tried to reinstall ActiveSync with both of them shut off (not just disabled).

But it did not work ...
