Try "CheckNotifications" from scarybearsoftware.

Every time you do a soft reset, there are notifications left in the system. After a while, these tend to clog the performance rating.

When I first installed it, my Axim had suffered from 103 unresolved events running in the background. Now it is down to 7 and doing fine.
