Been discussed in several different threads here over the past few weeks.

However, Creative is rumored to have stopped production after this "news" surfaced about the microdrive, in order to make a modification to it to make the drive less-easily removeable without damaging the drive. Whether this is true or not, I'm not sure....but a majority of online vendors are out of stock of this new MP3 player, which gives the appearance that Creative did indeed pull the plug.

It makes sense though, especially if Hitachi was the one to request them to modify the player to make it less-removable. I mean, Hitachi's normal customers for this drive (mainly pro photographers) have been buying these MP3 players up like candy. So Hitachi is losing money on the deal because of it.
