Even though I think you are SOL, you should also check the recycle bin on your PC. Since the file was not deleted by your PC's windows OS, I'd be surprised if they are in there, however.

There is also a slim possibility that 3rd party software (such as Norton Utilities) will be able to recover the files. The problem here is that unless you already have them installed, there's a real possibility that doing the installation will overwrite the hard disk sectors where the files originally were stored which means they will no longer be avaliable for recovery (a bit of a catch-22 there).
