512 MB is not a true number. When manufacturers quote size, a MB is meant as 1000 KB and KB is 1000 bytes, when in fact it is 1024 bytes in a KB and 1024 KB in a MB. So, 488.25 MB * 1024=499,968 KB * 1024 = 511967232 bytes. Take that and divide by 1000 and you have 511967 KB and divide by 1000 again and you have 511.97 MB, or 512 MB. It is a big game to make things sound bigger than they really are.
