The Axim doesn't take it.

Formatting takes a little but the majority of this 'loss' is because of semantics. Memory manufacturers call a MB 1,000,000 bytes while most computer operating systems (including PPC02 and WM03) call a KB 1024 bytes and a MB 1KB * 1KB or 1048576 bytes. If you divide 512 by this number, you'll see you are close to the values the Axim is reporting for your cards.
