The problem was WinRAR and partially my inability to follow instructions. The downloaded file on my PC appeared as if it was a *.rar file in which it was actually a *.cab file (the unzipped folder I originally spoke of in the previous post was the unpacked program). I copied the *.cab file to my Axim X5 as demonstrated in the tutorial and
BAM, program installed...
