I used to use Windows Media Encoder on my pc to stream the mp3s over to my x3i but you get no control over playback(ie. fast forward, rewind, song skip).

I now use Resco File Explorer to map My Network under my devices so when i go into one of one media players on my x3i that i can just select which one i want with the mp3 as if it was on my SD card.
