That isn't actually streaming the file.

It's somewhat of a technicality but in summary, streaming the file is where you "broadcast" the file and users connect to it at a specific bitrate. This bitrate will be tuned for the audience and connection medium.

You would stream music over the Internet for example.

What you are doing is effectively just dumping the file down over the network, which is different.

For home use it's often ok, but if you want to connect over the Internet (for example) then you want to "properly" stream it using WME or similar.
