All I wanted to do was get rid of some icons that didn't go away after removing a program. Someone said to do a full backup and restore to get rid of the dead icons. So I went to Backup and backed up "All Files" to my SD card. Everything went just fine. 31Mb of data in the backup file. Did a hard reset on the Ax and started the restore. The restore "thermometer" gets to exactly 50% and then the backup program just aborts and dumps me back to the desktop... No error message or anything, doesn't say it's even done performing the restore. After a subsequent soft reset it's apparent that nothing got restored as none of my programs other than the ones in ROM are on the machine anymore. I copied the backup up file from the SD card to the PC to make sure I had a second copy. I then deleted all the entries on the SD card and copied multiple copies of the backup back to the SD card thinking the SD card may be the problem... it is a 256Mb Chinese SanDisk SD card after all... I tried restoring from 4 different copies of these backups, always with the same result. So I'm guessing the SD memory is fine... Any ideas??? An I not doing this right?:rolling:
