I'm pretty good at taking apart my axim now... And I think I'm ready for surgery... ^_^

You are my perfect example of the screen issue. My point is that someone can do the work themselves.
I think that $149.00 for replacement digitizer and LCD is too high. Buying the standard unit 300MHz, and scraping out the display and replacing it in the 400MHz is the way to go. yeah you spend $50 more, but now you have a replacement button board, extra battery, charger, stylus, cable etc.. Sell it on eBay or keep it as 'extra' stuff. More stuff is always good isn't it?
