...or create a shortcut of the Today PowerToy applet and paste it to any folder/sub-folder where you wish to access the Today screen. Assigning it to a H/W button isn't the only way! It can also be used in several apps like task switchers if they provide a mean to link to another application and don't provide a today function by themselves. If you're using IcBar, you could just enable the Today button and assign to it the built in today facility & you could easily switch to Today screen wherever you are with just one tap!
