I'll look into it. I run an internet subtitling site ( http://www.captionkit.com ) so I should be able to find at least one solution.

The only one I know works is PocketCaptionKit which is the WAP version of my site. Unfortunately of course, WAP does text only, not video so its the worst of both worlds - timed subtitles but nothing to watch ;-) Useful if you want to review a presentation on the move though.

I'm assuming real player doesn't do subtitles either - tests on the BBC website suggest it doesn't support SMIL which is what I use to generate the real player & quicktime subs on captionkit. O well.
