Sorry to say this, but it really bugs me when people think it's ok to lie about not having done something to a piece of equipment, just to get it replaced under warranty. Regardless of who the manufacturer is, or what your past experiences have been, it royally ticks me off having someone lie, and quite frankly, it's committing an act of fraud. As soon as that system is brought back to Dell, they will examine it, and they'll know it was damaged by misuse/mishandling.

RTM, call Tech support and ASK them what's the best way of cleaning the screen, so that you don't run the risk of damaging it. You do something accidental, or stupid to damage the unit, sorry you pay for it to get it replaced...that's called facing responsibility.
