As I mentioned in a previous post, if you check your event notification settings you can determine which types of events are currently configured to notify by flashing the power button.

This can help narrow down what is causing the button to flash. Of course the easiest solution is to turn off flashing notification for ALL events.

I think there are 6-7 different event types that can notify by flashing. In my case, I found that Reminders were set to flash for 15 minutes. After turning it off for these events I have not had any problems with the flashing button.
