What OS are you using?
If XP or 2000 go into Windows Explorer and go to Tools > Folder Options and on the view tab select " Show Hidden files and Folders" You may also want to uncheck hide extensions for known file types and uncheck hide system files and folders.

Follow the steps above with the uninstall of Active Sync and deleting the temp files, can't hurt
