The Appointments sounds like a filter problem: make sure that you are not filtering appointments on your Axim (On Ax) Open Calendar, Tools, Options... make sure that there are no categories checked.
Your tasks rely not just on rules to sync but what you've told AS to sync. Check that the tasks that disappeared were not complete. AS on pc Tools, Options highlight Tasks click Settings you should be able to see any problems from there.
