I use Windows Media Encoder 9 to record TV shows and stuff from my Hauppauge WinTV card, and it has a PPC format. I can fit 2 hours onto a 256 SD card (not fullscreen though).

P.S. If you want to re-encode the WMV's you get from your recorder, use WME or even Windows Movie Maker 1/2 (1 comes with XP), and they both have PPC settings.
