I'm stunned

I'm stunned. I've struggled for probably a year trying to get Divx to play properly on my 300mhz X5 Basic. I got so many great tips from people, and reassurances that it "couldn't be PocketMVP...it's a great program". Great program. Right. Sound ALWAYS got out of sync with picture before the end of a movie. It would ALWAYS freeze when I grabbed the time slider and moved to a later or earlier point in a movie. And re-sizing the picture always meant a HUGE hit in performance...more like a slide show than a movie. SAD! No wonder I kept going back to MPEG-1 with PocketTV. It works right every time!

But then there's the BetaPlayer. I converted "Dances with Wolves" from a DVD I captured on my settop Philips DVD recorder using Dr. Divx (240x176 150kbps sound 40kbps 16khz stereo), and it played PERFECTLY. Other Divx files with incorrect resolution were resized PERFECTLY, with no apparent hit to fps rate. BRAVO! AND FREE OF CHARGE!!!!! WOW!!!! I wish for only one change in future versions...the ability to adjust color saturation. Divx files ALWAYS look washed-out in comparison to MPEG-1 on PocketTV on my Axim. That's one of the controls I most appreciate on PocketTV. Add it, and I'm DONE with MPEG-1, because for a given quality level Divx files are so much smaller. I like my color VIVID. So gimme' a color control, and you have a perfect product. For right now it's 99.9999999 percent perfect already. The best damn video player I've used...especially when I overclock my 300mhz Axim to 398.
