Main Memory (64MB on the X5 Advanced) is appportioned into:
- Program memory, for running processes (just like the RAM in your desktop PC); and
- Storage, for programs and data (think of it as a RAMdisk).

PocketPC automatically adjusts the relative allocations according to how much you've installed to Main and what processes you have running at any given time.

Built-in Storage (about 21MB on the X5 Advanced) is that portion of ROM not taken up by the OS (which requires about 27MB). Dell has made this slack space available to work like a storage card. On my Axim, I use this mostly to store backups.

'Hope this helps,

-Bill
