Cynthia, there are a number of tools that can do the job for you.

Windows Media Player is capable of ripping to WMA, and MP3 wit a plugin

RealOne also can rip.

I am a user of MusicMatch Jukebox, and it fills my need for ripping and organizing my MP3s very well. It is free, with better performance from the paid versions.

There are any number of lesser known tools that can give you better quality rips if you want to tweak and play with the files, but for simple rip 'n go type operation, these are the big 3.
