Get the Symbol driver but when you install it, make sure you select the "Driver only" option in the installation program. If you do so, you will be able to turn off the card without unplugging it. However, if you choose another option during the installation then the "Mobile Companion" software will be installed, too, and then you will not be able to turn off the card. The Mobile Companion is just a helper application, it is not needed to use the card.
