I transferred contacts via IR without any software, of course you have to do this one by one. Works fine for me as I don't have that many numbers (50-60). Pick a name from Nokia 6510, then go Details > Options > Send bus. card > IR. Axim recognizes the coming IR signal without any effort and you can save the name to Contacts. I haven't tried this vice versa as Axim is the main resource of information for me nowadays.

My problem is the Nokia 6510 only sends name and number, no address & email. I am currently using Outlook with Axim, therefore I cannot say how well Outlook & Nokia suite did exchanging contacts from 6510 to desktop. At least I had a problem with calender-markings - all events were marked lasting 30mins regardless of the real duration. I guess it is not in the interests of Microsoft to get systems fully compatible with Nokia.
