Truth-be-told, PPCs are never OFF. The Power Button just shuts off the screen (or dims it if you press&hold).

Programs not completely turned off with Switcher (or a 3rd party app) continue to run and eat up your battery. Even with everything really turned off, it's still not truly off, it will use a minimal amount of power to keep the RAM "alive" so that you have no boot process (ie; Instant On).
