Will Dell release a WM2003SE upgrade for the X5?
You all know the story. Dell seems to be reluctant to release an upgrade. Initially, they said there would be no upgrade. Then they added that maybe there will be for the X3. Then Dell-Rollie in the Dell support forums said that there will be an upgrade but there is no information about what models will be included. Additionally, Dell-Rollie said that the previous source was an unnamed source and it was not the official standpoint of Dell. However, if you think about it, Dell-Rollie is also an unnamed source, he's just a support person, we don't know his name and he is in no position to release an official announcement. And it was about two months ago and we still have no further information.
Therefore, I would say the chances of Dell releasing an upgrade for the X5 (which is obviously considered by them as an old, obsolete device) are pretty low. The continued silence from the part of Dell is actually very telling. They don't want to make us upset by saying "No, you don't get an upgrade", so they don't say anything. They just let the time go by, and after they release a new unit, the successor of the X5 maybe, with WM2003SE, they will just hope that everyone will throw away the old, ugly, obsolete X5 and buy the latest and greatest unit. They hope that the excitement over the new unit will make customers forget about their stupid wish for an upgrade of their old X5s.
This is how I see it. What do you guys think? This is a poll, please vote.
