Do these things just plug into a high speed connector and produce a Wi-fi signal or what. Does anyone else do this? Is it a pain in the ass? Please excuse me for being stupid...I'm really good with wires, really I am.

I am a road warrior too but I don't expect my PDA to take the place of my lap top. Once in a Hotel I want a PC screen to surf with .....not a dippy little PPC screen. My Dell X30H will be great in Airport Terminals, etc where I don't want to boot up.
