I think Dell thinks that if an upgrade is released, many people will just buy it and keep their old Axims for 1-2 more years. But if an upgrade is not released, they will hurry to buy a new PPC just to get the benefits of a new OS. Now an upgrade could be sold for $30, a new PPC could be sold for $300, which one will Dell choose?
It's not only Dell who thinks like this ... Have you ever noticed how many people tried to sell their X3i when the X30 came out? Or how many X5s were dumped when the X3i came out? And I am willing to bet some money that we will also see a noticeable number of Aximsite users selling off their X30s once Dell comes out with the new Axims with VGA or built-in phones ... Most people just don't buy PDAs for life and to maintain them throughout multiple lifecycles of the OS. PDAs are simply too cheap for that ...
