I have to agree that it is a matter of taste. I was a Palm user up until last year, when I purchased an Audiovox Maestro.
When you first get your Axim, you will have to decide what you want to do with it. It can do every function you previously used your Clie for. However, it can do much more, at the cost of battery life (though this is reduced with the Axim). My advice would be to be patient as you learn the new OS and what it is capable of...AND to recognize that as powerful as the platform is, it does have some limitations.
All in all, you will find over time that you made a good choice. Enjoy your Axim when it arrives, and take some time to explore some of the new power you will have. You can check out software at
