Last - the form factor between the 2 devices is different as well. You need to hold both devices to have an idea of which one fits your hand/shirt pocket/pocket book best. Overall, I'm happy with my switch from Palm OS to PPC - for me, I use alot of the new features the Axim affords me.
I think if you examine your needs, you'll find the machine that best suites you. If you will be using your device strictly for contacts and appointments, you may want to consider a palm OS based device. If you want to do ANYTHING else - PPC is your only other real choice besides a laptop.

Very well put! I personally need to get VPN software and be able to get my companies email via the web. My techies said that the Palm wouldn't get past my companies antiquated firewall. Otherwise I would have stuck with my Palm. (Treo). I had software that did what Excel, Word, and Powerpoint did so my reasoning wasn't applications. I am looking forward to my first PPC but I know that any programming from Bill Gates will require a good sense of humor and the right advice.
I have a fairly good sense of humor and this board has excellent advice.
Good luck!
