Whoa. The thread has been deleted on the Dell Community forums just now. It was only up for a few minutes. A guy wrote that he had downloaded the WM2003SE upgrade for the Toshiba e800, changed some code in it and then installed it on his X3i, and it worked great.

I think it might be possible. The hardware is actually not that different.
