I can't seem to find a great deal of info on DVD to PPC, or at least enough to answer my questions.

I downloaded a trial of mDVD, and it indicated that I needed a DVD viewing application installed. It suggested PowerDVD. I haven't actually tried mDVD yet, but I don't suppose Windows Media Player is considered usable for this purpose? At any rate, this would significantly increase the cost of using mDVD, as it costs 30 or 40 bucks to get PowerDVD. Is there a free alternative?

Also, does DVD to PPC require a DVD viewing application? Though it costs several times more than mDVD, if it doesn't require an expensive DVD player installed, it would end up being cheaper than mDVD for me.
