I’m new to the Axim as well but not new to handheld computers. After I learned the Palm (Block) alphabet I was able to sit in a meeting and take notes almost as fast as writing notes on paper. I couldn’t approach that with the on screen keyboard. Combine this with the added advantage of having all your notes (word doc’s) stored in a common place and synced to your computer. I remember having to go through 4 legal pads page by page to find some notes I took at a meeting. Invest the time in learning one of the handwriting input systems. My opinion is that it’s worth it.

I’ve been working with “Letter Recognizer” with the Dell because it seems like there are less strokes needed when compared to Block. I tried and continue to try Transcriber but I find it most useful for shorter notes. A sentence or two. I have figured out how to use it but the delay between your strokes and input on the screen costs you time
