It's been noted elsewhere on the site that the battery readings aren't perfect and that the backup batteries shipped out by Dell may have been on the shelf for awhile. With your backup battery reading 80% (mine regularly varies from 80 to 100), you have little to worry about. When it finally hits 0, it means that if your main battery runs out or is removed, you'll lose everything stored in Main (\Windows, \My Documents, \Program Files, etc.). You should probably look to replace that backup battery around the time it consistently reads 30%. That shouldn't be anytime soon if you keep your main battery charged.
