A lot of those things aren't streaming at all on your desktop. They're saving them to a temp directory. I just cleared 30 gigs of them off my desktop PC.
The PPC might not be automated to do that, so you have to save it. But either way, if it isn't streaming video on the site, it's got to be saved to your machine.
