fonts either directly installed to the windows/fonts folder or indirectly via 3rd party software remain in memory; hence file is in use or "locked and cannot be deleted". I have been experimenting with fonts and have to hard reset to clear font files. Once in windows/fonts directory, something locks them. Soft reset will not delete. Only option is hard reset.. :(
