I am having the same issues and Dell just told me there is nothing I can do about it . . .how did you reinstall Mobile 2002? 'Cause I have the upgrade disk and if I could go backwards, then I might be able to go forwards.

Wow!! The Built-in Storage came back to life.
What's more, I previously saved the Windows Mobile 2002 ROM
and then restored it and the built-in storage is still there!!

PS: Dell should let customers reinstall any ROM. Not just upgrade!!
PS: I was afraid to try alejandroborja's method.
