All my digital music is in MP3 format on my desktop (streamed to my X30 over the network... very cool), but when I take it to go, I put it in WMA format using Windows Media Player (copy to device option).

I have the settings set for 64-bit WMA and it cuts the size of my MP3 in half at least (as 128-bit is my lowest quality MP3) and it still sounds great with some earphones on the X30... So until I get my 1GB SD card (soon I hope), my 256MB SD holds about 110-120 songs (depending on the length) in that format (I guess you could divide that in four for your card d3carnage...
