Can't link to internet via bluetooth phone - newbie Qs

I'm trying to access my ISP using x30 paired to my t616 phone (Cingular) but am having no luck.
Once the devices are paired, and selecting the connection, the phone dials the 10-digit ISP access number but then I get a message saying, "No modem detected at number". However, when I dial the ISP access number on my phone I clearly hear the modem tones. It is same access number I use to access the web from laptop using my internal modem. I've tried adding pauses to the number (,,), changing the speed to 9600, and turning off authentication but to no avail. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Does anyone have suggestions? I've tried this other ISP access numbers as well and have the same problem.

Thanks in advance,

Nim

PS Is any way to edit the bluetooth connection profiles (i.e. changing the phone number, etc) without having set up a new one?
