Thanks, I will have a look into NPOPW, it looks pretty functional for my needs (I'm basically trying to do a BlackBerry on the cheap, don't want to pay 100 bucks a month for data service)

There are email programs that let you specify a lot more information for smtp.. like using a different server and port. NPOPW is free and works pretty well. I had a few issues with NPOPW peculiar to my mail needs and am using the kludgy and slow WEBIS mail, which wasnt free and constantly frustrates me with its horrible performance and tendency to chew up 8mb of ram every time I open and close it forcing soft resets. I cant recommend it unless you really need its features which sadly I do.
