Yep, it was me that replied to you smalltalk80. Your enquiry was civil and polite, unlike komal who started his email by calling me a F**KING IDIOT. Unsurprisingly I didn't feel inclined to be helpful in response, apart from suggesting that he learn some manners.

I'm not sure if Benny hit the g key instead of the b key, or whether it was just a pavlovian reaction because we're so used to typing 802.11g these days. Either way, it was a genuine mistake and not one that should have illicited abusive language.

As you rightly point out, other PDAs, such as some iPAQs, ship with a full version of Nevo remote control software, rather than a shareware app.

Also, as far as PDA use declining, it is. The reason for this is that many PDA users only used their devices for basic address book and diary features. These users can now get that functionality from almost any mobile phone, so have stopped carrying a PDA around. HOWEVER, the people who are using PDAs today are generally using them in a far more productive way, in order to work, communicate and entertain themselves on the move. Integrated WiFi has made the PDA a great tool, especially for the business person who's on the move a lot.

Ultimately, I welcome constructive comments, as well as queeries made in a civil manner. Perhaps komal will one day learn how to argue a point without being abusive, we can only hope so.
