I have not tried it with a WIFI adapter... however I was able to accomplish this with a bluetooth adapter.

The two issues that I had trouble with were getting the bluetooth devices to recognize each other. then getting activerync to sync through that connection

Turns out, you don't have to use a wired connection to establish the partnership as I have heard in the past.

you just configure the blaetooth on the desktop to establish a comm port, then activesync will see the Axim as if were connected via a serial cable. Of course it operates at bleutooth speeds.
