Tell me about it 
I added a USB Wireless Network Adapter and tried to set up an Ad Hoc network between that and my X30 and somehow got it to work for one evening and then it stopped working and for the life of me I cannot seem to get it connected again whether I supply IP's or let MS ICS through my regular NIC supply the IP's I cannot get it to work. 
If anyone has successfully set this up PLEASE tell us how you did it.
