How are you encoding your videos? I am pretty sure there are guides to encoding videos for the axim in this forum.. go for 320x240 and stuff like that. The axim doesnt seem to like the high bitrate videos.
Have you tried the newest betaplayer unstable thing? think its 0.92 and that works well.
