I'll try to do this simple.
You main memory is your RAM. Basically, your Flash ROM is taken by part of the PPC 2002 OS. It is encoded (about 27MB worth of OS) where you will not see that part of ROM. the rest of the Flash ROM is a perk Dell has encoded where we can use it as built-in storage (about 21MB for the X5 advance model and about 5MB for the X5 Basic model). Your System Information (under Start -->Settings --> System Information tab or in your Axim Explorer, My Documents --> SysInfo --> SysInfo text file on the FLASH: line) will show your FlashROM.
