I have installed a modem on my Axim: CF690V from Hawking (full name CompactFlash 56K CF+Modem). The modem works correctly when I dial an outside internet service provider, for example AOL.

However, when I try to dial to my office PC (it has a modem, and is also on the institutional network), the connection does not work. In fact, the dialing takes place, and even the message “Connected!” shows for about 5 seconds on the Axim’s screen, and then it brakes.

Additional information: I can synch my Axim and the PC without a problem. Also, I have no problem connecting (again with a modem) my laptop with the office PC.

So, could somebody figure out why Axim cannot connect via modem with the office PC?

I do appreciate any suggestions and help.
